Cycles of Strength
“Cycles of Strength”
This piece is deeply personal to me. It reflects the hurt I’ve carried through different stages of my life, a kind of pain that feels messy, chaotic, and at times overwhelming. The heavy black strokes mirror the darkness I’ve faced—moments where everything felt fractured, out of control. The circles in the middle are a reminder of how hurt can feel cyclical, returning just when you think you’ve moved past it, trapping you in its grip.
But there’s a vertical line cutting through the chaos—because even in the darkest moments, there’s always something that drives me forward. That line represents hope for me, a reminder that no matter how broken or lost I’ve felt, I keep pushing forward. Creating this piece was a way to confront that hurt, to lay it bare on the canvas, and in doing so, find a sense of release. This is my way of saying: the pain is real, but it doesn’t define me. There’s always light breaking through.
